Daphne Lee Martin – “Moxie” Interview & Album Radio Special

In case ya didn’t read my original article, let me just go ahead and summarize, though I imagine you can probably guess where this is going since I am, in fact, setting time aside to specifically write on this again. Yes, I thorough enjoyed Daphne Lee Martin‘s Moxie, the first of twin records: Frost & Moxie. Produced by Bill Readey at Fuzzy Rainbow Production, the album even includes John Panos of Mates of State along with her full band, “Raise the Rent“. Yet these are matters I have already discussed (again, just read the original article already if you’re curious).

The real reason for this article is that Dissociative Identity Productions & WKDU Philadelphia, 91.7 fm are proud and excited to host Daphne Lee Martin at the studio, around 6:30 pm EST (assuming the dreaded ‘punk time’ does not strike) to have an interview as well as an overall Moxie album radio special. This means an hour of tracks off the album, interview and the odd assortment of conversations which come with that territory, as well as some tracks of which have proven influential to the group as a whole. Yeah, it should make for quite an interesting hour so be sure to tune in either at 91.7 fm or simply by streaming through the WKDU site (top right hand corner). See ya then and just to get ya excited, not only is the full album streaming above but we’ve even got an official video for the single “Belly” below. Check it out and thanks for tuning in.

Dissociative Identity / BoerLore Fall ’12 Schedule

It’s that time of the year again. Summer has come and gone, leaving disenfranchised students with chagrin at the prospects of another long year in the academic drudgery that is college. Yet there is still hope, at least I believe so, and it comes in the form of Dissociative Identity Productions. That’s right; we’re back with our two iconic radio programs, Dissociative Identity & BoerLore, exclusively on the remarkable and ruggedly individualistic station that is WKDU Philadelphia, 91.7 fm. In case you are unfamiliar with our shows, here’s a quick description of the two.

Dissociative Identity

“If your high school band was a clone of Cap’n Jazz and the only movie soundtrack you own is Friday Night Lights, Dissociative Identity is for you. Tune in for all that is math, lo-fi, garage, indie rock, and post-hardcore, with Dissociative Identity on WKDU Philadelphia, 91.7.”

Genres: Post-rock, Lo-fi, Indie rock

BoerLore

“Trying to travel south to Colombia for some Psychedelic Classics? Or East to Ghana for some Jam Band Grandness? Then join BoerLore every week for the unknown legends of decades past and brighten up your day with some authentic, West African / Caribbean Psychedelic Rock.”

Genres: World, Psychadellic, Reggae

Anyways, be sure to tune in every Wednesday, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, to catch both Dissociative Identity, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and BoerLore, from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Ideally, these time slots will remain the same into the 2013 but, frankly, who knows. Knowing my luck, probably not. Still, for all intensive purposes, I could not be more excited. Although Fall may as well be a footnote to the “Taming of the Shrew”, it still represents the birth of another academic year. Let it be even better than the last.

Dissociative Identity on WKDU Philadelphia, 91.7fm – Spring Quarter

In case you were not aware, every quarter over at WKDU Philadelphia, 91.7fm, the entire radio schedule is changed. So if you have still been tuning in to my very old Saturday afternoon slot, you may have noticed that I am not at that time anymore. Despite to say, its absolutely gorgeous outside and Dissociative Identity is back with an even better slot.

Now on every Friday from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, be sure to join Dissociative Identity on WKDU for a full 10 weeks of new music, live instudios, and entertaining enough banter. It should be interesting. Also, I will be attempting to upload the radio show online so you can still hear it even after my scheduled time. Maybe I’m just getting arrogant but I think it’s pretty cool.

Anyways, be sure to check up on our Facebook page in order to learn more about all of our upcoming events, including “The Sound of Funk” with Cosmic Cousin dj’ing all night over at the New Angle Lounge. Stay tuned for the April ’12 Mixtape (should be out this week) and enjoy the sounds of springtime.

Snow White – New Angle Lounge

Two weeks ago, Dissociative Identity Productions and New Angle Lounge officialy started up our biweekly, music series, “Winter Wasteland“, with our “January New Angle Night“. It’s been a chilly start with snow and freezing hail and I can only imagine it getting worse. Still, I assure you, we have no intention of quitting now. With that in mind, and Winter still in full swing, be sure to join us over at New Angle Lounge for our second show of “Winter Wasteland“, “Snow White“.

As you may know, while New Angle Nights are devoted to live, acoustic music, the other shows are intended to provide variety and diversity to the scene. Thus, as of two days ago, we have officially decided that “Snow White” will be an electronica/hip-hop show featuring Sean and Johnny Doe (Matt). After recently performing on WKDU Philadelphia, 91.7 fm and the 2nd Annual Sierra MLK Day of Service Charity Show, the two dj’s bring a carribean twist to traditional hip-hop dj’ing and a rythem that actually inspires dancing, unlike many of the dubstep grime that has been coming out recently.

As usual, Happy Hour is from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm and the bar remains open till 2:00 am so do not hesitate to stop by. Also, apparently they have replaced their PacMan machine with a new sort of game so get excited and bring quarters. Anyways, thank you again for all of your continued support and attention and be sure to join us again for our thrid show of the series, “February New Angle Night“. I’m looking forward to setting up the PA system tonight and to seeing all of your slightly-intoxicated faces tonight. Till then.

Cliff
